i went to see 'fateless' today at the broadway. it's based on a book by imre kertesz (it won him the 2002 nobel prize). you should see it. not because of the 'topic' but for the story and because it's a really good film, that's all.
thursday's the last show.

he's going to kill me

he will, he will kick my lilywhite bum, but i love this pic so much i just had to share it with the world;-)
j., if you're reading this just remember that you're the only individual in this solar system who can make me pee in my pants from laughing on my way to getting my head cut off!

and now for something completely different

this just in -- the centrist kadima and the labor parties seem to be winning in the israeli elections.
ha!
btw, the election day is a day off from work and school for israelis and many people go for a breakfast at their favourite cafe before heading to the voting stations and for a picnic afterwards, on the beach or in a park...now that's what i call taking your civic responsibilites seriously.
wish i were there...

ah bien, la vie...

"Even if our efforts of attention
seem for years to be producing
no result, one day a light that is
in exact proportion to them will
flood the soul."
Simone Weil

well, i certainly hope so.
here's what's happened over the weekend:

1. my favourite store, ragtime, is closing
2. i've realized the world has not changed one bit since the 1930s depression
3. i've aquired a nickname -- 'peppermint k.'
4. i went for a walk! (and did not freeze to death)
5. i found out that reassuring others makes a raging optimist out of me
6. then i fall right back into my old sad self
7. i'm getting a d.c. as birthday/graduation present from my family!!!!
8. my family likes me;-]
9. er...life is weird

btw, on saturday heather f. and i went to tour different bridal shops in search for a bridesmaid dress for me, for an upcoming august wedding of a friend...i must say, i know now how carrie bradshaw felt in that episode where her and miranda went and did a similar thing.
scary.
so glad it's not me.
i must apologize for posting so very sporadicaly lately...life sure is crazy around here.
this week only we have meaghie's defense on monday, then two days of committee meetings for everyone else, then carrie's and mine 990 presentations...blahblahblahblahblah....
anyway, i'd like to extend an invitation to 'guest post corner'.
in the past we'd had 'cara, the temp' here, which turned out to be rather a success;-D
so, hold on to your keyboards...and send me the results for their blog-premiere!
k.

ps. for those with dig. cams or artistic skills, illustrated entries get priority;-)

waste of educational material

c.e.d returned from her recent visit to the clinic with little gifts for us all. this is the one i got. i just want to say, i still think public toilets are more gross than giving head...and in spite of the wild rumours circulating in the dept., k. does not have to do anything special to get good rental squash rackets & goggles. she just smiles. with her mouth closed.

in today's news

this is the manuscript of the final scene of Act IV of Le nozze di Figaro, signed by Mozart.
!!!
some filthy rich guy donated his music manuscripts collection to the julliard for this venerable institution's 100th birthday...
i mean, w.a. actually touched this piece of paper.
!!!
ha! i knew it! chocolate for all!
