for those of you who've heard of my bed mistress, insomnia, this is hardly surprising but here is a mini essay i found on one of my favourite blogs, varieties of unreligious experience
it describes the experience in a sophisticated way ( i never could). there's also a quote from e.e. cummings, which i think carrie might enjoy.

oh, and don't get me wrong, i'm not at all gloomy about it. just resigned. the only thing that really worries me? the throngs of clever young kids with perfect sleeping patterns i have to compete with for a place in academia;-) mind you, they might be talented, but i'm bloody determined. so there you have it.

long day, but fun. work went swiftly, filled with pink and white icing, coffee, and, well, work.
then on to the galaxy in the afternoon to see "pan's labyrinth". extraordinary film. brutal (and i'm not necessarily talking about torture scenes) and gripping, beautiful. i mean, REALLY beautiful. i cried myself into gross snottiness, the only person of course.
and my heart is still pounding.

not suprisingly, i found out about them from strombo. as i don't get out much and am only going out with him, it isn't that unexpected really that i like what he likes...

i guess i should think about cooking up some lunch for today and tomorrow. oh yea, i've started working part time for an archy consulting company, which makes everyone happy as little pigs and lets me sleep at night, which keeps me on good terms with boyfriend no. 1-thesis, which makes everyone who knows me happy as little pigs.
